Sunday, April 3rd. 2011 - from after lunch
Our Shanty Festival is held at the Wateringhole pub / bar / restaurant / on Perranporth Beach, usually the last weekend in April. ( However due to the late Easter 2011 we have moved it forward to the first weekend in April.. We start after lunch ( the best carvery Sunday lunch anywhere .. a dozen vegetables or more.. ) and the format is that every group sings for 20 mins or so in two sessions throughout the afternoon and evening. So everybody gets to listen to all the others .. and the beer is pretty good too.
As it happened, Bone Idol didn't turn up, and the FF had wedding commitments.....
And it turned out to be Mothering Sunday.
But we had the Aberfel Oggymen instead.
Next year will be on a better date ... Sunday 21st. April.
