STAMP AND GO launch their third C.D. with a nautically-themed (no surprise there.. ) evening at the SEINERS, PERRANPORTH ( from where tickets can be obtained )
Now metamorphosed into more than a sea shanty group, singing 5-part harmony a-capella songs about Cornwall, mining, and the sea, Stamp and Go will also be raising money for the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society, which supports seafarers in need.
The event to be held at The Seiners Hotel in Perranporth will see the group perform songs from their new CD entitled ‘Prussia Tracks’ - the title being a celebration of their winter workshop home, 'The Haven' on the cliffs at Prussia Cove on the Porth an Alls Estate. ( The 'tracks' are deep parallel grooves in the rocks of the cove supposedly worn by the carts of the smugglers. This is not certain... )
Stamp and Go, who perform regularly at festivals across the South West, and as far as the Orkney Folk Festival and the Lorient Celtic Festival, have their own Sunday afternoon Shanty Festival on Perranporth Beach at the end of April each year.
They are regular supporters of the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society, having starred in the charity’s underwater photography exhibition ‘Celebrations of the Sea’
